The Joshua Wilton House has been honored to host in-house private events for over 30 years! We boast talented chefs and a well-versed staff with decades of experience under their belts. Let us make your special day even easier with delicious food, great cocktails, and relaxing inn rooms. Read below for more information about private events, see images of past events, and submit your private event inquiry!
Note: Private Events are different from Catering Events. Private events are in-house at 412 S. Main Street, Harrisonburg. Any off-premise event constitutes as a Catering Event. For information on JWH catering, visit our catering webpage here.
Private Events:
Restaurant space: The JWH offers four separate dining rooms, two in the front of our home, and two in the back. Additionally, there is the cozy bar & lounge and private back patio, both of which are available for private events. Be sure to discuss the size of your group with the event manager, and they will be sure to find the space that works best for you! Two adjoining dining rooms can comfortably fit 30-40 people. The entire house can comfortably seat 80-90 people, with an additional 25-30 outside on the patio if weather permits. Room rental fees are applied to groups needing their own private space.
Menu: Dinner and lunch options can vary depending on the type of event you would like to have. By submitting the Private Event Inquiry Form below, you begin a discussion with our event manager who will email you with menu options and pricing. We offer a variety of private event styles: cocktail hour & passed appetizers, stationary appetizers, buffet-style dining, or a seated fine dining meal. We are happy to mix and match whichever styles of service you would like. As a farm-to-table restaurant, our menu items and pricing are subject to change
Inn Rooms: If you are hosting an event with guests from out of town, we have five stately inn rooms to host them! Often times, private events will book 1 or 2 rooms just in case someone has too much to drink, or doesn’t want to make the drive back home. We’re happy to have private event guests stay with us, just be sure to let us know in advance if you’ll need inn rooms, and we will hold them for your event!
